Spring Cleaning

Just like the rest of the things in your life you propane appliance also need a Spring clean or maybe just routine maintenance. If you want to optimize the lifespan of your appliances then it is extremely important for you to take the best care you can of them. This includes regularly having them serviced! So Let’s get down to a list of what you should do for your Propane “Spring Cleaning!”

Propane Grill

Well it is definitely time to bust out that propane grill for the warmer seasons, if you don’t use it all year long. You might take it out and think to yourself, “this could use a serious scrubbing!” And you are more than likely right! Even if you scrape your grates after every use there is going to be a big build up underneath those grate. Not only can that be pretty rancid but it is also dangerous. In fact, having a ton of build up on you grill increases the chances of having a fire significantly. Plus, if you have had it in storage all winter long there is a good chance that there is a lot of dust and possibly spider webs or even nastier things. So just do yourself a favor and scrub that grill to a shine.

Propane Fireplace

Lots if people don’t realize that you need to clean your propane fireplace. There are a lot of great reasons to have a propane fireplace, such as, it burns clean, there is not nasty ashy cleanup, it’s a clean non-toxic energy source and many more reasons. Over time there can be build up around the pilot making it get harder to light with more use. You are recommended to do it once a year. Luckily, it is fairly easy to clean.

Propane Oven

Yes, this is a most hated job. No one likes to clean out their ovens, however, it is a more than necessary job. Luckily, in this day and age we have self cleaning ovens. But we all know that only does so much and we still have to clean it out afterwards anyway. You also must clean the burners, and the stove top more often. One really great reason to make sure to give you oven a great cleaning is that it can help prevent house fires. Not only that, but do you want to eat food out of a dirty oven? I don’t think so.

This is one appliance that you definitely want working at maximum efficiency! Routine maintenance is important to make sure that there are no leaks or blocks going on with your furnace. If these issues go undetected they can end up costing you a bundle of money. You should have your furnace serviced by a professional at least once a year!

Did you know that sediment builds up inside of your water heater? This is unfortunately going to make your water heater work much harder and lose energy efficiency. We really want our appliances to have as much of a lifespan as possible. So it is super important to maintain these large appliances.
